Do You Trust Yourself?

Do you trust yourself? This feels like an intimate question, even a sensitive one. One that you may not want to share your thoughts on with too many other people.

Craving Change & Resolutions

I ask because we are coming headlong into thinking about New Year’s Resolutions. I sense it here in the gym, many people are looking at getting a jump start on those resolutions. Heck with New Year’s, we are hopping in before the holidays to head them off. We are already anticipating and craving that fresh change a new year can bring.

Self-Doubt

We are hesitant too, we have come up to this pre-holiday period with intentions. Then a fresh batch of intentions again on January 1. Come February we found it hard to follow through. Essentially we didn’t follow through in the past and then compromised our trust in ourselves.

Compromised trust within oneself is a rough place to be.

It doesn’t feel good and it puts a little voice in our head further “proving” that we are just that kind of person. The kind of person who doesn’t follow through, can’t make a change, can’t be trusted with our word to ourselves, or fill in the blank. I assure you, the second we break that promise to ourselves, we hear some internal feedback that solidifies the negative feelings we already feel from breaking a plan. Making it even harder to start and stick to something the next time we are craving change.

It’s not just about breaking that trust within ourselves, it is also about losing that version of ourselves we were dreaming up. It is defeating!

A Different Outcome?

How do we get around this? Is it possible? Even if we have gone back on our personal promises and resolutions to ourselves before? YES!

100% Accomplishable Habits

The path may be different than what we imagine or has been presented to us by way of a glossy magazine cover. No total body makeover or hardcore workout and nutrition program is needed. The answer lies in daily actions.

Not a full overhaul of our daily habits and actions, only one habit that you are 100% sure you can accomplish. Perhaps disappointingly,  it doesn’t feel as grand as an amazing New Year’s Resolution or a total body makeover. It is the first step to creating change and building your confidence to continue to create that change.

When we find our flow with that one healthy habit on a daily basis to where it feels energizing we have set the foundation for deep and lasting change.

What is one nourishing habit you can accomplish today and every day for the next 14 days?
