Your effort is the multiplier in the results you are seeking.
The only thing that stands between me and accomplishing a goal is inaction.
Some math on goal achievement.
0 Actions + Goals = Goals ← I am sorry to say this doesn’t exist. Thankfully, because if it did and you were only adding one action on top of another, it would take a lot of actions to get to your end goal.
In good news, this does exist; 0 Actions x Goals = 0
Wait, but we’re still at 0? With the multiplier equation being true, guess what 2x Action looks like or 10x? The multiplier can be exponential meaning you can get back several times the effort you put in.
You may still be wondering how this works.
How many times have you heard someone refer to the snowball effect? One action, starting the snowball rolling, will get that snowball quite large pretty quickly with some forward momentum.
What if you were to make one snowball and then go walk down the hill, make another identical one and add them together? How many times do you have todo that to create the same one that is using momentum to build itself?
What you put in isn’t only one stand-alone action it is momentum for future actions creating an impactful layer effect. One pitfall in our approach to achieving goals, the layering effect does not happen for ideas or planning on their own, remember action is imperative.
Bringing it back around.
If inaction is our adversary then that means any reason we find to not be in action towards our goal is merely an excuse. As hard as it is to swallow any and all excuses are not a valid reason for why we haven’t accomplished or are on the path to accomplishing what we truly care to.
The cool thing about action is that it can be very small and very simple. Remember, one initial action is the fuel to feed subsequent actions. This one action can be varied too, meaning, there is no one thing standing in our way.
Separate yourself from distractions, take a breath, and ask
Ask yourself; what can I do today to get .1% closer to what makes me feel fulfilled?
Do this within the next 24 hours.
Envision the answer to; what does it look like in two weeks from now repeating this process every day?
