The most surprising thing I learned when I started to eat mindfully

Testimonial Alert! Here at LMI Fitness, we like to build habits first based on mindful eating. Here is what one of our nutrition clients has to say about it.

One of the most surprising things I learned when I started to eat mindfully was how much my emotions and stress levels affected my eating habits. I used to think that I ate simply because I was hungry, but I realized that I often turned to food as a way to cope with negative emotions or to reward myself for a hard day’s work.

As I became more aware of my emotional eating habits, I began to practice mindfulness techniques, such as taking a few deep breaths before I ate, paying attention to the textures and flavors of my food, and noticing how my body felt as I ate.

Through this process, I discovered that I often ate more than I needed to and that I often craved unhealthy foods when I was feeling stressed or anxious. By paying more attention to my emotional state, I was able to make more conscious choices about what and how much I ate, and I found that I was able to enjoy my food more fully and feel more satisfied after eating.

Overall, the most surprising thing I learned was that mindfulness and emotional awareness can have a huge impact on our eating habits and can help us make healthier choices that are more in line with our true hunger and nutrition needs.
