More than 6 years ago, it took 6 months for Steve to convince me to try Crossfit, when I finally decided to try it out I was instantly hooked and never looked back. There are many reasons why I choose to Crossfit, and they rotate around in my head depending on what motivation I need, but at the core, for me, is simply because I love it! I love how the workouts are always different, so you never get bored or stuck in a routine. I love the intensity, there’s nothing else I’ve done, except for swim meets, where you get this kind of intensity, and with Crossfit, I get that competition intensity every day. I love it because I can do things now, that I never thought I’d be able to do, like Muscle-Ups, or handstands, or dead lifting 2.5x my bodyweight. Being an engineer, I’m numbers driven and so is Crossfit, which is another thing about it I love. I also choose Crossfit for my health; I have problems with my kidneys and being strong and in shape gives them the best possible chance. I choose Crossfit because it makes sense: A program that is designed to strengthen functional movements and make you prepared for the unknowable and unknown is what we all need. And finally, I choose Crossfit, because where else can a 42 year old train and look this good? 🙂
